📢 Open Position: Meeting Moderator for the State General Assembly
The State General Assembly is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Meeting Moderator. This is a Volunteer Position with No Pay/Salary.
🔹 Position Description:
The Meeting Moderator is responsible for opening and closing meetings and ensuring that the agenda is followed throughout. As a neutral facilitator, the Moderator ensures that all voices are heard appropriately, maintaining order and focus during discussions. The Moderator works in coordination with the Marshal at Arms to enforce any established participation guidelines.
A strong Moderator remains impartial, speaks only as necessary to guide the meeting, and helps redirect the conversation back to agenda items when needed.
🔹 Elected/Appointed:
This is an elected position, chosen by the General Assembly.
🔹 Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be an American State Citizen
- Completion of the 928 documentation package
- No dual citizenships
- No licenses or affiliations that create divided allegiances
- Must be vetted and approved by the State Vetting Committee
🔹 Qualities:
- Is fair and impartial when giving people time to speak
- Remains neutral during meeting discussions
- Can remain calm when things get heated and knows how to deescalate situations.
- Exercises restraint when speaking and does not dominate a meeting
- Sets good boundaries and ground rules for the meeting and is not afraid to assist the Marshal at Arms in enforcing them
