Preparing To Join
There are several things you will need before you can join the Assembly. Reading all of the information on this page will help prepare you.
- You will need a copy of your Birth certificate from the state you were born in. If you need to order a copy, go to www.vitalchek.com.
- If you are a Naturalized Citizen, you will need a copy of your Naturalization documents and, if you have them, a copy of your Birth Certificate issued by the Country where you were born.
- If you are an undocumented worker who has been here for 7 years and can prove it by mail, bank accounts, etc., and have not been on welfare or in trouble with the law in that time, you will have to write a letter stating so and have it published for 1 week before you can publish the remaining documents.
- You will need at least two (2) 2 X 2 pictures, like passport pictures. If you wear glasses, you must remove them. You can get these taken at a CVS or Walgreens that offer Passport Photo service. Or, stand in front of a clear and clean white wall and take a photo from your shoulders up – no selfie type!
There is a $50.00 donation for the Assembly to Record and Publish your Phase 1 to Phase 3 documents, or $55.00 donation to Record and Publish all of your documents through Phase 4. You can click Here to learn more about each document. You also have the option to have an Assembly Recording Secretary prepare your documents – see Here. As always, donations to the Assembly are used to help offset costs are greatly appreciated.
In addition, we innerstand, each of us has our own struggles in our own way, and we as an Assembly do not want someone to be stuck in “THEIR SYSTEM” because they can’t afford to pay to record their documents to return to the Land and Soil of Indiana. Should you need help, please notify the Indiana Coordinator of your situation. The contact information is: st********@****************ly.org.
The coordinator will give you the contact information for the Indiana Assembly State Recording Secretary / International Notarial Witness who can do all the Notarizing you will have to have completed when you receive your documents from the Assembly.
