Do you have a passion for organization, historical preservation, and community service? The Indiana Assembly is currently seeking a dedicated and trustworthy volunteer to serve as a Record Keeper — an essential role in preserving our legacy for generations to come. 🗃️✨
📝 Position: Record Keeper (County and/or State Level)
Type: Volunteer (Unpaid)
Location: Indiana (Remote/On-site as needed)
Organization: The Indiana Assembly – A Not-for-Profit, Community-Based Organization
🌟 About the Role:
The Record Keeper safeguards vital records for The Indiana Assembly. This role is essential not only for our ongoing operations but also for ensuring future historians can understand the important work being done today.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining paper copies of all status correction documents (excluding birth certificates)
- Storing baby deeds and meeting minutes
- Archiving digital recordings of all meetings
- Keeping duplicate records (county and state levels) in a safe, secure, and well-organized manner
🔒 Requirements:
- File cabinet(s) — fireproof and lockable preferred
- Safe and secure storage location (home or secure facility)
- A computer with digital storage backup
- Printer access
✅ Eligibility & Vetting:
- Must be an American State Citizen
- Completion of the 928 documentation package
- No dual citizenships or licenses that divide allegiances
- Vetting required by appropriate county or state vetting committee
